The perfect shortbread crust with the most addicting ooey gooey butter infused brown sugar pecan filling. Dusted with the perfect touch of powdered sugar on top! Make these the day before your event and you’ll be asked to make them again next time! Buttery, chocolatey, pecan filled shortbread squares!

Ingredients

Scale

Shortbread Crust

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cold salted butter, cubed

Milk Chocolate Maple Bourbon Pecan Filling

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar

Instructions

Shortbread Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line 13 x 9 pan with parchment paper.
  2. In medium bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar.
  3. Using pastry blender or by hand, cut in butter to flour & sugar mixture.
  4. Press into 13 x 9 parchment lined pan.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until set.
  6. Remove from oven and set aside on cooling rack.

Milk Chocolate Maple Bourbon Pecan Filling

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and brown sugar.
  2. Add melted butter, vinegar and vanilla bean paste. Stir well to combine.
  3. Stir in chopped Marich Milk Chocolate Maple Bourbon Pecans.
  4. Pour mixture over baked shortbread crust.
  5. Place back in oven for 20 to 25 minutes. The center will be a little jiggly and it will be firm when touched. This is how it should be!
  6. Cool bars in pan on baking rack for at least 2 hours before cutting. The longer you wait – the better!
  7. Once cooled – cut into desired size of bars.
  8. Sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar.
  9. ENJOY!

Notes

Oven Tip:

  • If the sides are getting brown while in oven, you can put foil around the edges to keep it from being overdone. I personally love the crispier and softer pieces.

Storing Tip:

  • You can store these in the refrigerator for up to one week. Allow bars to warm up to room temperature before serving!
  • This are best served next day! Plan ahead and these will be the hit of your party!
