The Best Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe!

Well! Your life is going to change after you make the best Vanilla Bean Cream Cheese Frosting EVER!

You are going to want to put this on just about everything in your life! This is my go-to frosting for all things! I put it on my Carrot Cake, Red Velvet Cake & Sugar Cookies!

Understanding this Recipe

Here’s some questions to help you understand all aspects to this recipe! If you have any further questions, please ask away in the comments below!

What kind of cream cheese do you recommend?

We want the regular good ol’ cream cheese for this recipe! My favorite brand is Philadelphia Cream Cheese!! I buy the tub of full-fat cream cheese from Costco and measure it into a cup. You can also buy an 8 oz. block of full-fat cream cheese from the grocery store. DO NOT buy low-fat, whipped, or a spread! You will have runny cream cheese frosting!

What if my frosting is thicker than I want?

If your frosting comes out thicker than you’d like, add a little splash of milk or heavy cream until it is your desired consistency!

What if my frosting is thinner than I want?

If your frosting comes out thinner than you’d like, add a little extra powdered sugar until it is your desired consistency. This frosting is very customizable!

Does cream cheese frosting need to be refridgerated?

Once frosting is made, don’t leave the frosting out of refrigeration longer than 8 hours! This includes baked goods with the frosting applied! If you are making it in advance it can stay in the fridge for up to three days and in the freezer up to a month! Be sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container!

Can this frosting be piped?

Yes, this frosting can definitely be piped! You will want to add more powdered sugar if you do so! Be sure to refrigerate the frosting for 20-30 minutes before piping in order for it to be a little bit easier! Cream cheese frosting will always be less sturdy than buttercream, keep that in mind when choosing your design.
